This makes a massive difference. Of course some people choose to continue living near to one or both sets of grandparents (if they are living and have a good relationship) and/or siblings.

But these days the majority of us have either had to, for employment, or just feel the need to, for our own personal development, move some distance away.

But don't have a society or economy that takes into account that this dislocation and isolation means that parents of young kids need a lot more support, or they will just opt out.
