This makes perfect sense. You just subcontract to a carer who can look after the oldies and the newborns. This would double carer productivity, for only a modest 1% wage increase, and as 1% of fuck-all remains fuck-all, this is econometrically negligible. And increase birth rates thereby solving the developed world's demographic pyramid inversion problem at a stroke.

How come no one has thought of it before???
