To be fair, the Medium algorithm does seem to be self-aware in an Artificial Pigheadedness kind of way, and will sometimes continue to offer up the same story over and over again, like a parent proffering broccoli to a toddler.

I've tried reading stories right through to the end to see if that will satisfy The Machine, but they keep coming back.

Is it because Medium recommended a life enhancement thought piece by Arnie the other day, I wonder?

Spotify does the same on random play. It will sometimes get obsessed with a particular artist and keep pumping their stuff out way more than the laws of probability should allow, and then ignore them for years. The way everyone spends the post-teenage decade unable to stomach even the sight of Southern Comfort or sweet cider.

Or maybe your hater's just a jerk.

The great thing is that it's the days when we step in the dog turds of life that give us the worst ideas. In the sense of 'the best'.
