We fitted solar panels last year having bought and done up an old house in Alicante province. We went for a lease option, as the provider handled all the paperwork and grant applications to reduce the overall cost. Plus they are responsible for maintenance if anything goes wrong, as the owners of the installation.

But Caixabank, and I guess other lenders, are also now offering customers the option of financing the whole thing with them as a turnkey option, which makes things easier to arrange and finance.

It's been very cloudy the last few days but we are still generating 100% of our power needs, though we would need an expensive 10 kWh battery to actually store for use in the evening our surplus from the day. On a sunny day, it's more like 200%, so effectively we are powering our neighbours as well via the grid.
