2023 RETROSPECTIVE

Welcome to the Overlooked Hotel

Some of my favourite pieces that didn’t do much shining this year

And so another year slumps onto the sofa to snoringly sleep off twelve months of excess.

To sleep, perchance to dream.

Of stories that might fly high. Or simply crash and burn.

Looking back over the stats of my first 200 days or so here on Medium, I feel pretty satisfied with the trajectory I see.

But there are a few pieces for which I had high hopes, or put particular effort into, that failed to gain an audience.

Some were perhaps posted in the wrong place or at the wrong time. Maybe they were just a load of rubbish.

Anyway, I post below a brief selection in a few of the categories I tend to cover.

To give them another chance, before the year ends and they slip for good into the Medium algorithm’s memory hole, to… be completely ignored by everyone all over again.
