What I still don't really get is what is in it for them. The returns on spamming out comments in the hope of the writer finding them so inspiring (how likely is that) that they then click on the user's profile, then on one of their AI-generated stories, and stay long enough to generate any earnings must be tiny.
Admittedly, the returns on FX dealing and arbitrage are also tiny in percentage terms. But the volumes make up for that - is it really the case on Medium?
Or is this some vast Turing test experiment at the community level?
