Yeah, I think the issue is not so much the screen and its content itself, as the isolation from the rest of the world.

That said, TV was supposed to be the end of civilisation (again!), because people would stop reading books.

But gathering on the sofa to watch a fave programme or movie was a fundamentally social experience, whereas reading a book is also isolationist.
