Yes. And it's one thing that's stressed in the onboarding - don't poach from other pubs, as they have put in the editorial effort to source and refine those stories by their writers.
But they only mean 'don't poach from other nomming pubs'.
Perhaps every pub should be allowed to nom 2 stories per month, say. And then get accepted if they hit a certain strike rate after 6 months. 70% is currently considered 'you know your shit' territory, so if you got 9/12 accepted over 6 months, you have proven you are every bit as good at the job as the existing members.
There's a worrying gatekeeper/financial mismatch aspect to the whole thing.
