Yes, the Biccies, as they are affectionately known in the area ('biccy' being Liverpudlian slang for 'biscuit') do inspire obsessive dedication among their fans. Very much one of a kind.

Unfortunately the Probe Plus label no longer exists - the founder finally retired a few years ago, at the age of 78! Which is still young in US presidential years, right?

And the record shop has relocated to the Bluecoat Chambers, a trendy set of alternative boutiques (candles, crystals, vintage clothes...), as I think the original building was sold by the landlord. So there's not much left of the original set-up from back in the day... I haven't been back to Liverpool for years now. Hopefully I'll be taking my family there next summer, and we will spend an afternoon wandering the streets where I used to spend my Saturday afternoons shopping for records and clothes.
