Yet it's amazing how seldom these mishaps occur, I feel.

Given what idiots humans are - and how much more idiotic they tend to become when behind a steering wheel - I'm always stunned at how few road accidents happen.

And given how rub-your-nose-in-it-spiteful the universe is, it's also a real surprise how few things end up falling in the toilet bowl - again given the time we spend early-morning-clumsy-stumbling in the bathroom, often with wet and/or soapy hands.

It has the black hole armageddon potential to seize and render useless countless objets in our everyday existence, yet so seldom does.

Does that reflection make you feel better or worse about today, Doc?

BTW, I've always loved the way that when you drop the screw cap of the toothpaste tube in the wash basin, it plinks and skips around before settling in the niche of the plughole, like a roulette ball inevitably plopping into the '0'.

Adds a touch of tragic 006 1/2 glamour to one's uneventful morning, I feel.
