There is a 'Medium Staff picks' piece on the homepage today (at least for me - I don't know if these are universal or partly user-dependent) which, while interesting enough in its subject matter, is incoherently structured, and dotted with basic errors of grammar and punctuation.
If Medium is putting that in the shop window to tempt in new paying users with its 'best-on-Web quality writing', without even quietly asking the author for a couple of edits, you really have to wonder what curatorial policies or standards are being effectively implemented.
And that is the crème de la crème in promotional terms. Not simply an average boostee.
