This is the problem right now. It's killing the community, because comment alerts have become meaningless, genuine interaction is swamped.

Which aren't algae at all, but cyanobacteria. Whose photosynthesis originally kickstarted more complex life on earth billions of years ago. But now they kill off whole ecosystems thanks to anthropogenic eutrophication.

Funny old world, eh?
